Firstly, the event is more than just a trade show, it’s an essential meeting place for all professionals involved in the construction, concrete and masonry industries. And as one of the biggest shows, it did not disappoint.
From introducing groundbreaking technologies through to delivering hands-on demos, the event offers multiple opportunities to educate, network and grow. And for us, we were able to cement partnerships, bringing on board a number of new projects.
The enquiries we received and the projects we signed are a great indication on the current and future state of the market.
For instance, our StarPol and StarPol 1700 which are a set of Starch Ethers received a number of new enquiries owing to the increasing popularity of its use in the construction industry. It has a strong ability to enhance the workability, sag resistance, and cost-efficiency of dry-mix mortars. And is widely used in applications such as tile adhesives, drywall joint fillers, plastering mortar, and masonry mortar.
Another telling sign is the increased interest in our Lithium Carbonate alternatives. With the continuing volatile market cost of Lithium our AptiLith range are a cost-effective alternative. The AptiLith products accelerate setting times and high early strengths in binding systems. They are also highly effective at low temperatures and compatible with all types of hydraulic binders and additives.
Further products that sparked discussions on our stand was our range of Titanium Dioxide powders product and our AptiFlo superplasticisers.
DeTOX is a range of Titanium Dioxide powders. With its unmatched whiteness it has extensive use in plastics, inks, paper, coatings, and we also offer a titanium dioxide paint pigment.
And as for AptiFlo, we’re expanding the range of water-reducing additives to include AptiFlo 114 and 116, all of which had keen interest at WOC. The superplasticisers are a boon to the construction industry because of their exceptional flow properties and ability to provide high early and final strength.
What I also witnessed at the show, which I was already aware of, but its value was cemented is our teams extensive real-world experience and the benefit this has for customers. Brett, Matt and I come from a technical background and can apply our chemical understanding when working with customers and our accounts.
It really is telling that WOC takes place at the start of the year as it builds on the experience of the previous year and establishes the trends for the year ahead. And based on that we look forward to sharing updates in coming months on product and business developments to support the construction industry.
