AptiScreed

AptiScreed is designed to provide low shrinkage and high early strengths to semi-dry screeds that allow foot traffic after 12 – 24 hours and high levels of compressive and flexural strength after 7 days.

Applications

AptiScreed is a high specification plasticising and water reducing admixture for cementitious semi-dry screeds. It is recommended for use in internal and external screeds on which ceramic, natural stone, parquet, resilient, carpet, etc. is to be applied.

Benefits

  • Low shrinkage.
  • Allows foot traffic after 12-24 hours.
  • High mechanical strengths at 7 days.
  • Produces a Cat A, C40, F7 Screed.
  • Compressive strengths of up to 60N/mm² can be achieved.
  • Ideal for underfloor heating, allow 15 days curing prior to commissioning heating.
  • Internal and external applications.
  • Improved finishing from action of superplasticiser.
  • Low odour, low VOC content

Usage

The mix must have a screed mortar consistency that when tamped becomes compact with a smooth, cohesive surface with no surface bleed. Screed mortar may be mixed with a planetary mixer, standard site mixer, worm-screw mixer, mixer truck or automatic pressure pump.

AptiScreed is supplied in 10 Litre and 25 Litre canisters, 200 Litre drums, 1000 Litre IBCs and in bulk tankers.

AptiScreed Max

AptiScreed Max is a unique, innovative liquid screed admixture combining next generation technology for rapid drying times and high early strengths.

Applications

AptiScreed Max is a liquid admixture for semi-dry screeds which has been specifically developed to provide rapid drying times, high early and ultimate compressive and flexural strengths in bonded, unbonded and floating screeds. It is ideal for underfloor heating, internal and external applications.

Benefits:

  • High early compressive and flexural strengths.
  • Allows foot traffic after 24 hours.
  • Very rapid drying times.
  • Produces a Cat A, C40, F7 Screed, allows thinner screeds to be laid without compromising strengths.
  • Compressive strengths of up to 60N/mm² can be achieved.
  • Ideal for underfloor heating.
  • Internal and external applications.
  • Bonded screeds from 20mm and 35mm for unbonded screeds.
  • Improved finishing from action of superplasticiser.
  • Low odour, low VOC content.

Usage

Care should be taken not to over water the mix. Bear in mind that sand can be supplied with a high-water content. The correct consistency is such that the material should be semi-dry so that a ball can be made that will be firm but that no water can be squeezed from it.

AptiScreed Max is supplied in 20L, 200L drums and 1000L IBCs. 12 months minimum shelf life when stored at normal temperature in dry conditions.

AptiScreed Max Powder

AptiScreed Max Powder is a semi-dry screed additive which has been specifically developed to provide rapid drying times, high early and ultimate compressive and flexural strengths in bonded, unbonded and floating screeds.

Applications

AptiScreed Max Powder is a unique, innovative screed additive combining next generation PCE technology for rapid drying times and high early strengths. It is ideal for underfloor heating, internal and external applications. AptiScreed Max Powder is also suitable for pumped screeds.

Benefits

  • Will allow foot traffic after 24 hours.
  • Produces a Cat A, C40, F7 Screed, allows thinner screeds to be laid without compromising strengths.
  • Bonded screeds from 20mm and 35mm for unbonded screeds.
  • Improved finishing from action of superplasticiser.
  • Low odour, low VOC content.

Usage

AptiScreed Max Powder is supplied in water soluble sachets for ease of dosing. It is compatible with all Portland Cement systems, including GGBS, PFA and limestone blends. AptiScreed Max Powder is compatible with retarders but should be added to the mix separately.

AptiScreed P

AptiScreed P is a powder admixture formulated to provide rapid drying time and improved strengths when used in traditional sand/cement screeds.

Applications

AptiScreed P is designed for use in applications where the screed is bonded to the substrate, un-bonded or floating. The standard screed mix of cement and sand mixed in the ratio of 1:3-5 is used for creating a level layer to receive the installation of the final floor finish such as tiles, wood, linoleum, vinyl etc. Traditional screeds are generally suitable for use in hospitals, schools, retail, homes etc. AptiScreed P is ideal for use in screeds covering underfloor heating systems.

Benefits:

  • Rapid drying enabling earlier application of floor coverings.
  • Can be lightly trafficked after 24 hours.
  • Suitable for all normal screed applications including over underfloor heating.
  • Supplied in a water-soluble sachet. Easy addition on site with no measuring or mess.
  • Produces screeds which comply to ISCR Cat A or B depending on mix design.
  • Compressive strength: >25N/mm².

Usage

The user should check the moisture of the screed before commencing to lay the floor covering to ensure compliance with the recommendations of BS 8203:2001. Typically, floor coverings can be installed between 1 to 3 weeks after casting depending on the screed thickness and drying conditions. For a 50 – 75mm cementitious screed an average drying time of seven days per 25mm should be allowed before laying the floor covering. For depths lower than 50mm the average drying time may be reduced to 3 days subject to the substrate being free from moisture. Low temperatures or excessive moisture in the underlying concrete will delay the drying of the screed. Protect the sand/cement screed from premature drying due to wind, strong sun and enforced drying conditions

AptiScreed P is supplied in 200g water soluble sachets in a box of 80 sachets. 24 months minimum shelf life when stored at normal temperature in dry conditions.

AptiScreed Plus

AptiScreed Plus is a highly efficient plasticising and water reducing admixture for cementitious semi-dry screeds.
